Eric was an incredibly gentle and kind soul. I will forever remember him fondly as someone with genuine intuition who knew what people needed without them having to expressly state those needs. I can easily recall a time, back in the mid 1990s, when my boyfriend had left to study abroad for a couple of months. Being the nervous girl that I was, I took the time apart very badly. Eric, who was always wonderful, was particularly kind to me in those months. I remember coming to work, at Guitar Center where we worked together, after dropping my boyfriend off at the airport and Eric could read my sadness without my having said a word. He asked how I was and before I could answer fully he said “I don’t think you are going to be able to talk about this right now. Don’t worry. You don’t have to say a word.” He was completely right. And, throughout that evening, he sat with me and let me be dramatic without any kind of judgment. He was a friend which is exactly what I needed that night. I am very sad that the world has lost someone as feeling and thoughtful as Eric. I will remember his kindness always.

You were only nine when I left home for the Army and so many memories are of my baby brother. I remember the four of us playing hide and seek in the house, playing eep-eep, and rolling down the back yard in the inner tubes. We were always wrestling and had fun tickling Kevin; he was so ticklish (still is I bet)! Remember running the hamster through the toy mazes in the bedroom? Catching snakes, sledding, swimming at the beach and playing at the playgrounds. Every summer we went camping as a family. We would have so much fun! The Pacific Ocean was so cold but we would run through the water and whip the kelp around.

I remember the trip to San Diego to see Grandma and Grandpa; we hit every amusement park on the way.

I remember my wedding day and how cute you were.

You taught me how to jet ski, and I remember ripping my big toe open in the process!

It took years for that nail to grow back normal.

I'll miss you and can't wait until we can get back together again.

My head tells me you are happy and in heaven, my heart is just broken...

Take care and God bless you Eric!

Love Andrew

Jamie

My memories of Eric are so simple.  Walking home from the middle school bus stop together.  Talking about t.p.-ing and egging houses, being made fun of for music likes/dislikes (NKOTB and Debbie Gibson were all the rave amongst girls, but definitely not guys), things that are trivial but ultimately a right of passage.

Although it's been many years since I last saw Eric, a void is still felt.

Prayers are going out to his family and friends, and to Eric...until we meet again.

Clay
Sorry for the loss
I can remember when eric and I were very young going over to his house and listening to records of the sounds of whales glad to see he was pursuing his dream

Sweet Eric- I remember visiting Seattle when you were just a little toddler.  You were like a precious doll that your older cousin (me) loved to hold, carry and play with.  When you all moved to Germany I loved taking you to the playground.  You were a sweet happy little boy who grew up to be a fun and generous young man.  Emery and I will never forget how you made his 8th birthday at the downtown Houston Aquarium so special.  I will always cherish the pictures of you in the big tank holding a sign that Happy Birthday.  You and Patrick try to stay out of trouble up there in Heaven.
